Spectator invited to the II edition of the Congress. Member of the project Programa Mirante.

Bio

“Between 2021 and 2023, I was approved in a competitive examination at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, as a guest professor, to create and develop a university extension program with different projects linked to the training and qualification of the spectators of performing arts. The program earned the name Mirante – Theatrical Reception and Expectation, and generated a biannual workshop (Recepção Teatral e Estudos do Espetáculo), open to the community, focused on the collective reception of stage works every 15 days and the conduct of classes with the aim of deepening the reflection and discussion around these works. I taught, as a teacher, three editions of that workshop, with an average of 15 to 20 students in each edition. The workshops were supported by an innovative methodology that we investigated within the framework of that project, called “critical mediations”, focused on the act of critically looking at the world through theater. In addition to this workshop, we developed training actions for new spectators in collaboration with the city council of the city of Belo Horizonte, in one of its cultural centers, located on the outskirts of the city”.
