Bio
“The area of audiences follows three strategic lines: participatory design and/or co-creation approach, accessible call and communication, and evaluation of the experience. In 12 years it has created different modalities of activities and shows (face-to-face, television, virtual with accessibility tools and podcast), scaled in formats and decentralised its actions.
Three years ago we implemented the cultural accessibility approach that has allowed us to develop concerts and plays under an inclusive and accessible approach. The task is not easy since this practice is not developed in the country.
Accessible Concerts: In this regard, in June 2022 we carried out a participatory accessibility diagnosis and in parallel we coordinated with strategic allies to implement talks, awareness-raising workshops and the design of accessible activities aimed at the different teams of the GTN. This involves managing positive changes within the institutional culture of our organisation and in the exercise of the cultural rights of persons with disabilities.
This innovative project is designed and implemented under a co-creation approach and with the active participation of members of the Deaf community: Peruvian Sign Language (PSL) interpreters and Deaf linguistic advisors. Together with them, and taking into account the perceptions of the experience of the hearing impaired audiences, actions related to the appropriate treatment, the distribution of the space, the interaction of the musicians with the audience, the participation of the sign language interpreter, the bodily sensation of the vibrations of the musical instruments, the simultaneous overtitling, among others, are monitored and adjusted. The co-creation process requires a series of sequential meetings between sign interpreters, language advisors, musicians and GTN’s technical and management teams”.
