Bio
“The project started as a part of the large-scale Creative Europe project, “BeSpectactive!2! where Institution Students Cultural Center in Novi Sad (SKCNS) was a partner from Serbia. As the whole project was about cultural participation in performing arts, our group of active spectators was formed, mentored for several years and started off a new theater festival for and by young people UPAD (translates “get in”), thus it still exists even after the end of the main EU funding.
Great thing is that this brought structural changes in one public institution, it introduced participatory programming with young spectators and opened up institutional doors wider to our audience. More importantly, the project has continued to attract the audience (it is usually sold out a week before it starts), it is free for young people, it is managed by young people, and 90% of the audience is younger than 25″.
